Flavour: Flavourful cheese with character and lots of aroma that fill the entire mouth. Taste of UMAMI, and a wonderful aftertaste that lasts for a long time.
Description: Holtefjell has its origins in the French Alpine cheeses, but this one has a slightly firmer consistency. Recipe based on a Tomme which is a French Alpine cheese, but a bit firmer. Matures for 6-12 months and is suitable for all tapas dishes and as a flavour enhancer. Fantastic as a snack with a slightly sweet, sparkling white wine. Holtefjell Vellagret is the winner of Cheese of the Year 2020 in the competition ‘Det Norske Måltid’. The jury’s statement: "The cheese has a nice balance of acidity, well-integrated saltiness and fine crystals after storage. The flavour is complex, but still characteristic of this type of cheese. The winning product is the result of good craftsmanship and works excellently on a cheese board, or as a flavour enhancer in countless dishes.
