Strømmen Gård
Strømmen Gård
t the end of the fjord Straumfjorden in Nordreisa, where the current is the strongest, lies Strømmen Gård. We are the third generation to run the farm. Goat's milk is our primary production. The dream of having our own cheese started after a study trip to Switzerland and France in 2004, and today we have a small dairy where we make cheese from fresh, unpasteurized goat's milk. In 2019 we received gold for our Strømmen Chevre in the Norwegian Cheese Championships. We sell our cheeses mainly at Bondens Marked (Farmer's Market) in Tromsø and Alta, as well as through the REKO-ring in Tromsø.
We produce the following cheeses from unpasteurized milk: Strømmen Chevre, Kremost (cream cheese), Balder - a waxed semi-hard cheese and Frøya - a semi-hard cheese matured with herbs.
