Skjerdal Stølsysteri
Skjerdal Stølsysteri
On our farm in Skjerdal in Aurland, we run a small farm with goats and sheep and a horse that has its very special place in the business: We need it to bring firewood up to the mountain farm and the cheese we make down to the village.
We produce most of the cheese on the home farm, and this is where we have our farm café where people can come and experience traditional farm life, meet the goats and buy cheese and “melkekaker” (traditional pancakes) with freshly cooked brown goat’s cheese. We produce traditional white and brown goat’s cheese. The white cheese is a semi-hard cheese in 3 different varieties; The traditional unsalted white cheese is used on the dinner table with soup, stew and the like. The salted variant of the same cheese is a versatile, mild cheese that is suitable for a cheese board, on bread, in a gratin, etc. We also have a salted variety with caraway that is great on potato cakes or for packed lunches.
Arriving at the farm Leim, you can enjoy the view and have a cup of coffee at the outdoor café.
