Description: White cheese from Skjerdal is a semi-hard cheese, made from fresh, unpasteurised goat's milk. We make the cheese after milking both in the morning and in the evening. The cheese is stirred with a traditional wooden whisk called “tvare” and pressed by hand into traditional, wooden cheese moulds in various sizes from 1.5 – 3 kg. Traditionally, the cheese was unsalted, and we still make a good amount of that type. But we also have a salted variety and a variety with added caraway.
