Kandal Ysteri

Kandal is a village with long traditions of goat farming, and goat’s cheese was made here until 1954. There was also a dairy school here, which trained over 200 dairy workers.

Up until now, tourists have been asking for goat’s cheese from Kandal, but we haven't had any cheese to offer (until now). At the beginning of 2021, we started producing brown goat’s cheese according to Kandal tradition. The goats graze in spectacular scenery and they go to the mountain farm Myklandsstøylen in the summer.
