Production of traditional goat’s cheese from Herland Seterdrift since 1950. Herland seterysta geitost is the same good and traditional real goat’s cheese we have been known for through many decades. Although we have started using milking machines and more modern cheesemaking equipment, today's cheese is produced according to the same exact recipe that has been used since the beginning in 1950. Since 1959, the goats and cheese production have been moved from the lowlands up to Storliseter (Storli Mountain Farm) on Hardangervidda during the warm season.

There, the goats have large expanses of fields to walk on with the variety of nutritious food that the mountain has to offer, and which the goats move towards all the time to get the freshest food. Rune Herland, who is the third generation on the farm, is today responsible for the production together with his partner Bente Tepstad.
