Budeia herself, Katharina Sparstad, is already in full swing and has formed a rearguard together with the dog Eira. Calmly but firmly, she leads the herd into the milk barn.<br \/>\nSparstadst\u00f8len in Sanddalen has over 150 years of tradition and is still run in the old way, with milking by hand.<br \/>\nShe finds the bucket and sits down on the barn stool while she chats with the cows. With familiar hand movements, she sends the jets of milk steadily into the bucket. In the stall next to it, scattered bleating can be heard from the goats and down the mountain sides the trickle of small streams can be heard. Otherwise, the morning is characterized by a rare silence and harmony.\n<h2>\n\t\tWhen traditions are upheld\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Da Katharina startet med seterdrift p\u00e5 st\u00f8len i 1996, hadde den st\u00e5tt tom siden 1964 hvor forrige budeie, Olga, s\u00f8steren til bestemoren, med tungt hjerte stengte d\u00f8ren for siste gang. I dag st\u00f8ler hun etter de samme metodene og med de samme redskapene som den gang. Fremdeles uten innlagt str\u00f8m og vann. Her er langt til solcellepanel og st\u00f8yende aggregater. Utstyret vaskes i friskt fjellvann og all oppvarming og koking foreg\u00e5r p\u00e5 vedfyrt ovn inne i seterstua. Tiden styres av dyrenes rytme. Hver morgen og kveld trekker de hjem for \u00e5 bli melket. Resten av d\u00f8gnet holder de til i utmarka rundt setra sammen med geitene. <\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tAn important contribution\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>-Drivkraften ved \u00e5 v\u00e6re her?
