The farm Ommang S\u00f8ndre in L\u00f8ten has a versatile biodynamic cooperative agriculture, and produces milk and cheeses, grain and flour, meat, honey, vegetables and herbs. The animals are milked by hand and fed mostly with grain, green fodder and grass produced on the farm. The cows are of the breeds Nordlandsfe, Sidet Tr\u00f8nderfe and Jarlsbergfe. They are better for grazing outside and in the mountains. All goat's milk and part of the cow's milk are processed into white and brown cheese. The cheeses are made early in the morning in the old brewery on the yard three days a week. The milk is not pasteurized before cheese making. Brown cheese is cooked using wood.
