Gimstad Gård Ysteri

The story of Gimstad Gård Ysteri started back in 1995 when we found the old separator dusted in the attic of the storeroom. It didn't spin, but we took it down and started dusting it. After a few weeks, all the parts had been dismantled, cleaned and lubricated, and after assembly the incredible happened; it went around! As chance would have it, when Christmas came, we saw that we were going to produce a few hundred liters of milk over the quota, and we decided to try making butter. Since then, the idea of refining the milk locally on the farm came gradually, and in 2013 we built the cheese factory.
